Geminus is an elaborate metal garden sculpture of verdigris bronze lined with 23¾ carat gold leaf. These finishes give the piece an ethereal glow that suggest an inner life force – a breathtaking effect made even more dramatic at night with subtle illumination.
The piece mimics the unique hues created by dappled light filtering through water when observing the submerged coral. It features cut away petals which create a curved pathway of metal and voids, allowing light to create an ephemeral presence with a sense of playful levity.
The design invites the eye to follow a path and takes the viewer on a journey akin to the sinuous flow of organic thought; a feeling of entering a maze and letting the mind wander away.
A reinterpretation of David Harber's iconic Mantle, which was inspired by the relationship between mass, void and colour, Geminus is an evolution of this concept and explores the liaison between the three.
The sculpture is a limited edition of 100 pieces and can also be made in mirror polished stainless steel with the interior spray-painted using any RAL colour.
Geminus in bronze and gold leaf has a starting price of £21,557; in stainless steel prices start at £29,573. Prices include lighting, VAT, plus delivery and installation in mainland UK.

Geminus can incorporate a few words on a discreetly located petal.
The classic dimensions are 76cm, 100cm or 120cm, and customised versions in other diameters are available on request.
Geminus is supplied with a bronze fixing ring at its base. The client will need to provide a stone or concrete pad to attach this ring to. Stainless steel bolts are then resin fixed into holes and drilled into the stone or concrete pad, to provide a secure fixing. It is possible to integratea low voltage LED uplighter in the base of the piece for which an electrical supply will need to emerge up through the centre of the concrete pad. We supply the driver for the LED.
Installation and delivery are included in the price for UK commissions, and for overseas shipping quotes can be obtained and charged at cost.
The finishes used on Geminus will exhibit some natural weathering with age, however, periodic cleaning will help preserve its beauty. We would recommend that it be cleaned at least once a year but only with warm water and a soft cloth to remove any detritus. Use of any abrasive cleaner will damage the finish and must be avoided. The interior gilding should be washed gently with a garden hose, a high-pressure hose should be avoided at allcosts.
